The approach

Considered from the start.

An odour or a past contamination concern deserves a closer look. We start by identifying the source and the duct materials, then discuss whether cleaning alone is sufficient or a targeted surface treatment is appropriate. Treatment is an optional, separately agreed part of the scope.

01

Understand the concern

Describe the odour, any known moisture or pest history, and previous cleaning. We review accessible areas and identify concerns that need a mechanical contractor, pest specialist or remediation professional first.

02

Clean before treatment

Remove accessible dust and debris through the agreed duct-cleaning scope. Applying a product over accumulated material does not replace a proper clean or correction of the underlying problem.

03

Confirm a suitable method

Check the current Canadian product label, duct materials and equipment guidance. We explain the product, areas included, application method and any occupancy or drying instructions before you agree to treatment.

04

Leave a useful record

Record the product and treated areas, relevant application instructions, photographs and access limitations. Photos document the work; they do not prove that an entire duct system has been disinfected.

A purpose for every product

Understand the treatment before you choose it.

Cleaning, deodorizing and disinfection have different requirements.

Surface coverage, contact time and access matter. An accessible grille or HVAC component can be assessed individually; a quick mist through the vents does not demonstrate whole-system disinfection. We confirm the suitable surfaces and intended outcome in your scope.

Before work begins

A clear scope.
A transparent quote.

Your property and systems determine the work.

We review size, system count, condition and access before quoting. The agreed scope explains what’s included and any limitations. Mechanical repairs and regulated trade tasks are referred to appropriately qualified contractors.

Is this the same as duct sanitizing or disinfecting?

Those terms are often used together, but they describe different outcomes. A product’s hard-surface disinfection claim does not establish that a whole duct system has been disinfected. We discuss labelled cleaning or deodorizing uses and only describe an accessible surface as sanitized or disinfected when the permitted use and application conditions can be met.

When might treatment be considered?

A persistent odour or known contamination history can justify an assessment. The source must be addressed first. Treatment is not automatically required for every duct clean, renovation or seasonal cottage opening.

Which product will you use?

The product is confirmed in the proposed scope after assessment. You can review its current Canadian label and safety information before work. We do not choose a treatment solely because it is described as botanical, natural or hospital grade.

Can every kind of duct be treated?

No. Bare metal, flexible duct and porous insulation need different consideration. We do not include porous duct lining in a standard treatment scope. Wet or damaged lining and suspected mould may require specialist assessment or replacement rather than an added spray.

Will this fix mould or eliminate every odour?

No. Treatment does not repair a moisture problem, remove a pest source or replace mould remediation. An odour can also originate outside the duct system. We explain the findings and any recommended specialist work before proposing treatment.

Do people and pets need to leave?

Occupancy, ventilation, drying and system-restart instructions depend on the selected product and method. Tell us about scent sensitivities and access needs before quoting. Those arrangements are agreed in advance; there is no universal re-entry time.
